2024 Wrapped - Insights through Heatmaps

Recently, Uber showed me a year recap of how I used the app throughout the year, which inspired me to create my own 2024 Wrapped.

Calendar Heatmaps of Commute, Bike Rentals and Food Deliveries

I collected data from my Uber, Royal Brothers, and Swiggy accounts and tried to visualize it using calendar heatmaps.

Geo Heatmap

I was also interested in bringing all my footprints of the complete year on the map.

To achieve this, I used an open-source code from GitHub, which uses location history data downloaded from google maps to create a geo heatmap.

It’s built using the Python library Folium.

These were my footprints around Bengaluru. The blue lines radiating outwards from the center indicates the various bike trips I did over the year.

This also highlights my personal best record of Cycling 70 kms along the Outer Ring Road.
